Mid-Week Notes

So I’ve got my finals starting a week from now, and that means major stresses for this blogger. So I apologies I ahead of time if my posts in the week coming up are less then perfect.

I’ve been listening to a lot of anime themes recently. After weeks of searching, I’ve finally found the Dokuro-chan OP. My computer’s been looping “Pi piru piru pi puri pi” so much that I’m starting to think that my has started to beat along to that catchy rhythm. I find myself at random moments in the day bobbing my head back and forth and singing “Boku satsu Te-yen-shi~, chishibuki doku-doku-Dokuro Chan!” and getting very odd looks coming my way. Oh, the power that catchy j-pop can have over you!

And is it just me, or does the begining of the Tenjho Tenge OP “Bomb A Head” sound like it was written by Pootie Tang?

I just got around to listening to Matt’s audio post, and I think it’s one of the coolest ideas I’ve seen yet in the blogging community. It feels like he has his own radio show, lol. So yeah, Matt, I’m interested in being part of your next one. I don’t know how it would work, but it sounds like a lot of fun! :-)

Also, I would like to express a lot of thanks for all your compliments on the pictures of my girlfriend the other day. She was very flattered with all the attention she’s been getting from it. Considering all the time she took prepping herself up for such a thing, she deserves all that praise and then some!

Now don’t expect to see a lot of pictures of myself. I’m defiantly not the prettiest dude in the world, and to find a good picture of me is very rare. So while I’m hesitant on posting this, it really makes me happy to look at it. My trip to Anime Boston was an extremely stressful event, but my baby made those days very fun for me. Every fanboy out there must find himself a fangirl to call his own. There’s nothing better then sharing your hobbies with the person you love the most in the world.

As you can see, this girl sure knows how to make this boy very happy. (^_^)

  1. You lucky guy, you. I’ve been single all of my 23 years… ;)

And I only pretend to be a radio personality, lol ;) So, you wanna be on next time? Send an e-mail my way and we’ll work things out, then (still a couple of weeks ’til I plan on doing this month’s). Be glad to have you on :)

  3. nope, unfortunately we go to different schools. he’s at ncc and i’m at bu (5 hours away!). so we don’t get to see each other as much as we’d like. we end up seeing each other on weekends, holidays, or vacations. aaand, since boston anime is in - u guess it - boston! he had a really good excuse to come up here and visit me. :)

  5. Jen (Scott’s girlfriend) is not a student at NCC. She met us in Boston for Anime Boston 2005. It was funny because some Asian dude was talking to her during the Tokyopop panel and Scott said “Yeah, that’s my girlfriend.” Must’ve been awkward for the Asian guy.^_^

  6. Hi, Jen! Remember me? I’m that dude with the glasses. No, not the really big fat one. That was Big Mike. I was the one whose computer Scott wanted to use to go on his site but the Hynes is cheap and makes you pay for it so he couldn’t. Yeah, that describes me real well, doesn’t it?

Oh, and we showed Scott that video of him dancing yesterday. He didn’t know Steve found it. He hates us now.^_^

  7. When I said “Asian” before, it wasn’t to be offensive. Don’t hurt me. I was just saying it would be less awkward if the guy was American. Okay, I’m gonna stop before Scott pulls out Excaliborg and clubs me to death.

  8. lol.

Trust me, Alex. If I was going to club you to death, I would have done it a long time ago. :-P

  9. Hey, it wasn’t my idea to show the video. If you’re gonna club anyone, club Steve.

I think you need a message board here, Scott. People are gonna read our remarks and be like “Uhh….” :-P

  10. ::pulls out Excaliborg and clubs Alex to death.:: Hah!.. Take that!… Wait.. What’s going on? I was just doing that for the hell of it.

  11. Dyslexia… it’s an Asian thing. J/K If anything, it’s the direct opposite.

Actually, the awkwardness of Asian guys when reacting to male Caucasians with Asian girlfriends is well-documented. It’s a common issue among Asian-Americans.

I find it fascinating that two anime bloggers happen to chat with one another only to find that they attend neighboring universities…
