Ichigo 100% - Episode 3

Oh, sweet Yui love’n!

It’s no secret that when it comes to harem anime, I always have one favorite over all the others. It’s always the girl who’s shy, sweet, and most of all cute! I just love cute things. But for some reason when it comes to anime, all of these specific kinds of girls have blue hair. Tenchi Muyo had Sasami, Love Hina had Shinobu, Ai Yori Aoshi had Aoi-chan, Negima has Nodoka, and now Ichigo 100% has Yui!

But when it’s my favorite character we’re talking about, I expect a lot of good things to be done with her in the anime adaptation. First, the good: She’s just as sweet as she is in the manga! From her innocently waking up in bed with Jumpei, to her being afraid of dogs, to her lovingly offering to wash his back… She’s just so sweet and cute!.

However… something just didn’t look right with her… this character design just didn’t scream the kind of cuteness I got from the manga. But they didn’t have this problem in the OVA, right?

OVA TV

It’s a little hard to tell from these caps, but in the OVA her hair is much rounder. Also, she has blue eyes in the OVA while here they’re green. It seems very petty, but they do make a huge difference when it comes to cuteness.

But all and all I was happy with her one episode appearance here, and hopefully she’ll be brought back before the season is over. The series is really starting to pick up now that they graduated middle school, and the preview show that Satsuki will be debuting on next weeks show. This fanboy is happy once again! ^_^

Mahoraba ~Heartful Days~ Episode 12

It was beautiful over here for the past couple of days, but then it got really cold again.

::cries:: I want it to be summer!

The sun…
The beach…
The sand…
The water…
My girl in a bikini… (^_^)

Well, I guess that’s coming soon. In the meantime, let’s watch the cute characters of Mahoraba and they’re summer vacation antics.

A very fun episode. It looks like we’re introduced to two new characters… at least, I think they’re new. I don’t recall seeing them before. The first one would be the quiet Loli type that you know is up to some kind of evil. The second would be a dim-witted life guard who I thought was really cute and hilarious.

But once again, the true star of this episode is the Engrish, and it’s at the worse I’ve ever seen it in an anime. I gotta give the guys at Froth Bite credit for trying to make sense of it all. Check it out:

[something] Get out! Get out the delux watermelon!
And wood braid! And the wooden blade
Okay, funny girl, come~ Okay, funny girl, come on!
Dilectsu set, on! Set up the deluxe watermelon!
Are you really ok? Are you ready, okay?
I must set! Set the blindfold!
Jet set! She’s set!

Ha ha ha ha ha… ob boy… And I think the “I must set!” line is the funniest because of the way she says it. It’s like, with such force and determination that she has to set.

But besides for that, I really enjoyed this episode. But does want me to end the semester and start summer right now.
