Today My Site Went Ka-BOOM!

So when I wrote my entry last night about the censorship of I’’s, I knew that it was going to bring a whole bunch of people in. The whole controversy over it has been all over the internet, and I saw in my hands a juicy little tidbit of information that would add fuel to that fire. But at the same time, I also thought to myself that people are sick of hearing about it. It might have more a negative backlash against my views and me if I were to bitch about it. And honestly, I think I was more intrigued and amused then pissed off at this whole thing. But still, I saw a potential goldmine of promoting my website out there, so I had to take the risk. And I must say that the result has been exciting, nerve wrecking, but all in all very good for my blog.

The first thing I did around midnight last night was post a link in the Anime on DVD forums. The topic was locked fairly quickly, but the post did generate a lot of traffic through out the night. When I woke up, I was almost at a hundred visitors. It’s only 10 in the morning, and I’ve almost broken my record for most hits in a day. This is going to be very good for my site. (^_^)

But then the remarkable happen. On a break from my schoolwork today, I checked my stats page. Then I found a new website that’s referring people to my site… Anime News Network! o_O!!! For those of you who don’t know, ANN is the most popular website for finding out what’s been going on in the anime industry. So does that mean that they’re linking my website?!? I checked it out, and they picked up my story! Dayam, that’s the big time right there for anime on the internet. So I sat back and watched the stats build up…

A hundred visits that first hour! I was one happy blogger. But if you notice in that graph, there was quite a bit of a drop right after that. That’s because I don’t think the guys at Blogsome expected such a thing. So for most of that time, only the one page of my post was visible. The rest of the site was completely MIA. This got me very worried. I thought that maybe I blew it. Blogsome is a free site, so maybe they have a bandwidth limit and they were going to shut me down. But after an hour or two the site returned back to normal. Later on in the day the entire Blogsome server was down for a little, but that seems to have been worked out as well. I don’t know, I haven’t heard from any of the administrators yet, so I guess it all good.

So after the ANN fire dies down a little, another site, Manga Jouhou, picks me up. This site is the manga scanlations equivalent of AnimeSuki. And they must be very popular too because now they’re tag teaming with ANN in driving my hits to over 1000 people today!!! That’s unbelievable!

Now I know that this will come to an end very shortly. I doubt that I will ever see 1000 people in one day again for a long time. But still, I’ve been looking at my stats and a lot of people that came through ANN have been reading the rest of my blog too. So maybe this will still build up a little bit of larger fan base for me. Well, either way, what an exciting day it’s been for me. ^_^

Ichigo 100% - Episode 2

Wow, it seems like forever since I’ve seen the girls of Ichigo. Let’s get reacquainted, okay?

I was actually a little disappointed in this one. I think the reasons for this is because it’s not a particularly interesting part of the series. I mean, how many times can you get excited over an entrance exam? Every single anime about school-aged kids has something to do with entrance exams. Middle school exams… high school exams… college exams… It just reminds me how much going to school in Japan really sucks.

So it was a pretty boring episode with only one or two amusing things. But I have feeling things will pick up again pretty soon.

Yakitate Japan - Episode 20

It looks like Anime-Empire has been catching up on the backlog of this fantastic series.

Poor Kawachi. Though I guess it’s not really a surprise that he lost this round, just like it’s not going to be a surprise that Azuma will win his next match to face Kunmuri-kun in the final. I mean, what kind of tournament-fighting anime would it be without the “This is revenge for my fallen teammate!” attitude?

Today’s LMAO moment: Kawachi waking up to discover that it’s not Tsukino’s chest he’s nuzzling into, but the store managers!
