Mai Magical Musical

So when I started this blog, I wanted to put a comical spin on what’s been going on in the anime industry. But of course the moment I go live with it there’s nothing to report. Well, I guess they were all saving up for a massive amount of news to spew forth in the last day or so. So here are three things that really strike a fancy with me.

Mai-HIME Season Two

This isn’t the first report of there being a 2nd season of Mai-HiME in the works that I’ve heard about. It was actually an April Fools joke from another blog that I was stupid enough to believe. So when I heard the news again over the weekend, I didn’t believe it. But the sources seem legit on this one, and other websites have confirmed it to be true. So it looks like there will be 2nd season of this great show.

Now this is a real surprise to me since this series does not call for a sequel. In fact, the first ended in such a tightly wrapped pink little package that it will be very interesting to see how they go continuing. But still, it was an awesome series and I’m really looking forward to anything new that my come from it.

Negima Kicks Ass in Sales

Ken Akamatsu is my favorite manga artist ever. I can honestly say that he made me a fan of the medium. So to see that he’s doing so well with is series just makes me thrilled for him. Not only did he steal the top spot on the charts, but this volume is also sold the most copies this year so far then any other manga.

Which reminds me… I gotta go to Borders ASAP and pick this one up… (^_^)

And finally…

Bleach! The Musical?!?

Source

I believe that Weezer said it best with “Say it ain’t so.” After Powerpuff Girls Z, I believe that at this point the Japanese can do whatever the hell they want. And the thing is… it’s a story is about a boy who slays demons. It’s a shounen action in the purest form… HOW CAN THEY MAKE IT A MUSICAL?!?

But the truth is, I can’t wait to see Chad’s tap dance routine.
